Proyecto Artístico “El golpe”
De cuatro a cinco de la tarde
la sombra del diablero es muy elegante

El golpe consiste en la realización de 380 esculturas de metal, vidrio y madera; cuyo punto de partida es la sombra del diablero. Es una indagación sobre las posibilidades de la escultura para representar no una imagen, sino la memoria del trabajo del artista con los diableros en el mercado de abastos de Oaxaca, y la idea del arte como gesto de solidaridad y de profunda comprensión entre los seres humanos.
Alejandro Santiago trabajará durante una temporada con un diablero en el mercado de abastos de Oaxaca para vivir las condiciones en que realiza esta actividad, y para indagar sobre los temas, los deseos y las emociones de las personas que cumplen cada día este “trabajo de los mil diablos”.
Al mismo tiempo, estas esculturas darán forma escultórica a la riqueza de sensaciones, colores, texturas, olores, estado de ánimo, anhelos, frustraciones, e historias de vida que se perciben en un mercado de México.
Para este proyecto el artista ya ha pasado tiempo explorando las condiciones en que se realiza esta actividad y se vive como diablero, ha tomado fotografías, realizado bocetos y ha conversado con ellos para entender el tema que traducirá a 380 esculturas, pues son 380 los diableros registrados en Oaxaca.
Al terminar las obras, se realizará una exposición en el mercado de abastos de Oaxaca y en las vías del tren pues son los lugares habituales de los diableros; después el conjunto de esculturas podrá exhibirse en museos o espacios culturales, para finalmente venderse por separado.
La venta de las esculturas permitirá al artista crear un fideicomiso cuyos fondos se destinen a becas para los hijos de los diableros que, de alguna manera, prestaron su sombra para la realización de las obras.
Este objetivo del proyecto El golpe, subraya el carácter ético del arte, hace evidente que la autoría de una obra es siempre un tema compartido, que el pensamiento es un fenómeno social, y que solamente la convivencia con otros y la comprensión nos lleva a entender aquello que nos hace humanos.

Upon completion of the works, will be an exhibition in the supply market in Oaxaca and the railroad tracks as they are the usual places of diableros, then the set of sculptures will be exhibited in museums and cultural spaces, and finally sold separately.
The sale of the sculptures will allow the artist to create a trust whose funds are spent on scholarships for children of diableros that somehow lent their shade to the completion of works.
The aim of the project The coup, emphasizes the ethical nature of art, makes clear that the authorship of a work is always a theme shared that thought is a social phenomenon, and that only the coexistence and understanding between us to understand what makes us human.
